Hey guys! Need help thinking of a dessert to make? Don’t worry because I’ve got your back! 🙂 I’m going to show you guys a recipe that is great when you need to make something in a hurry or just need to get rid of leftover candies and goodies. They’re easy to make and can be made without a mixer. These cookie bars are dense, thick, and full of texture. The fun part is that you can change up the recipe as you seem fit and add anything else you want also! Just use what you have on hand. Time to go through the kitchen now and rummage through all the sweets! 😛 Continue reading

There are No Limits

Image

With school coming to an end, my innovation project in English had come to an end too. It was a great experience that gave me the opportunity to work with kids and their creative sides. Being able to work on this project with friends and meet new people, I’d say that the project overall was incredible. We learned new things along the way and built friendships. When an obstacle got in the way, we creatively found a way to overcome it. There’s no limit if you try.  Continue reading

Going the Distance

ImageWe recently watched a movie called Rocky in class, starring Sylvester Stallone. The movie is about an amateur boxer, Rocky, who’s never actually had a real fight before and is given the chance to fight a well known, heavyweight champion. He is given the opportunity to pursue the American dream, and along the way, he finds love. To prepare for the big fight, Rocky trains all day and night. He never gives up even with all the obstacles thrown at him in life. Rocky tries to look past the negatives and keep moving on. However, while everyone else was pushing him and thinking that his goal was to beat Apollo Creed, Rocky was aiming more than that. He told his girlfriend, Adrian, that he knew he wouldn’t be able to beat the champion, and it was absurd to even think he’d be able to. Continue reading

Getting Your A Game On

ImageThe time has come…AP testing is getting closer and closer! It’s practically creeping up on us. 😥 My teacher gave my class some advice to prep for the test, and one of them is to eat a good breakfast! Research has shown that breakfast is the most important meal of the day because it gives us energy to start the day and improves our performance in whatever we’re doing. It improves our concentration and problem solving skills, as well as eye-hand coordination. However, some of us may be in a hurry and not have enough time to eat breakfast. It’s okay! Here are some ideas to make for a breakfast on the go~

“Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover”

Image

Recently, in class, we’ve been reading The Count of Monte Cristo, and I think the story plot is pretty interesting. In the story, the main character has multiple personalities and disguises. The different disguises mask his true identity, and what he portrays on the outside is different from what he thinks on the inside. It’s like what they all say: Don’t judge a book by its cover.

These treats reminded me about the main character in The Count of Monte Cristo. They’re dessert in disguises. 🙂
