Hey guys! Remember when I mentioned about how my class and I were participating in an innovation project in our class? Well, my friend recently showed me a site called “The Journal,” and there was food art! Omg..they were so cute. Who would’ve thought you could make so many kinds of picture and art from just food?! These people took something ordinary such as food and innovated it into beautiful art. I remember when I was little, I was told to never play with food, but I think making the food into works of art invites the kids to want to eat their food more! It gets them excited to eat their food, especially if they look that fun! 🙂 I thought these creative innovations were so brilliant I just had to share it with you guys! 🙂 Hope you have a great week~
Recently, in class, we were watching the movie Paths of Glory. In this movie, there were soldiers from France who were sent out to do the impossible, which was to attack the ant hill controlled by the Germans. However, they failed to do so, and 3 of the soldiers were tried in court for being cowards. They were found guilty for “not bravely serving their country.”
This week we were supposed to create a WW1 poem in class. My teacher handed out papers with four poems on it, which we were supposed to read. Afterwards, we had to get into groups of 3 or 4 and create a new poem using the words from those four poems. After a while, my group and I realized it was a bit difficult to write the poem because it limited us to using only the words in the poem. We also had to work together to agree about what to write.
Just like how my group and I had to combine all the great pieces of artwork in the WW1 poems to make a new poem, it relates to how you have to be creative to combine new things sometimes and try to make something new and delicious. I recently ran across a recipe in a blog called girlversusdough, and guess what? It was a dessert pizza! I don’t think I’ve ever tried one before so after seeing this I was like “woah!” I mean…what more can I say about the combination? It was cookies and creme (one of my all time favorites) and pizza! Enough said. I’ll put her link down below~ 🙂 Hope you guys enjoy!
Hope you guys had a great week! This week I found out about Chips Ahoy’s Ice Cream Creations! They’re the company’s new cookies that taste like ice cream! Wait whaaat?!?! Yup. You got that right! Chips Ahoy came out with four flavors for their Ice Cream Creations line: Dulce de Leche, Mint Chocolate Chip, Mocha Chunk, and Root Beer Float. It reminded me about the innovation projects we’re doing in English class and how there are so many things out there that could be invented. They could be inspired by anything. With Chips Ahoy newly invented cookie flavors, I think I might find myself going to the store and looking for these ice cream-inspired cookies creations to snack on with a glass of milk! 🙂 What do you guys think of the cookies?
In my previous posts, I’ve said that almost every day during English class, we do this thing called Brain Fuel. This activity is a time where it is quiet and peaceful, giving us some “alone” time. After doing brain fuel, it allows us to think better and accomplish more things. Here are some good treats to snack on that will help get our minds going! Continue reading
There are days in class when my teacher would surprise us with a lesson completely unexpected than the normal everyday English class, and this week, he talked to us about Valentine’s Day.
This week, my class and I did presentations on our blogs in English class. We talked about how are blogs were growing, our favorite comments, favorite posts, changes that were made, things we’re still struggling with, and basically analyzing our blog to show how we’re doing with our blogs. It wasn’t about how many views or likes you had (although having them is nice); it was about how much time and effort you put into your blog. The more work you put into your blog, the more fantastic it will look! Make it so you’re buzzing with so much joy, you can’t wait to share it with everyone! Everybody may not take interest in it, but hey, it’s your work, and you’re proud of it. You are your own audience.
Many of us have taken our finals already so all I can say is yaaaaaay! It has been such a stressful and tiring week that after finals were over, I literally knocked out…(shows how sleep deprived I was haha). Whenever finals are over, we always get the satisfaction of being able to relax again. It’s like being able to take a breath of fresh air and feeling free! Continue reading
Have you guys heard of Cintascotch? Well, in English class recently, my teacher brought up what he does and showed us some of his arts for mishmash. Cintascotch takes the most common and ordinary things we have and transforms them into works of art. It sparks a whole lot of imagination and creativity because there’s no limit to what we can do. In my recent post, I took inspiration from Cintascotch. I used coins as balloons for a simple UP drawing and chocolate chips as raindrops for the other picture. Not only are Cintascotch’s art amazing, he shows people to think outside the box and look at things in a different perspective. By looking at things in another way, you can create something awesome from just the things around you. Here are some of his arts using Oreo cookies, fruits, candies, and etc.~
